What is the difference between a bookkeeper vs an accountant?

While most don't realize, accountants and bookkeepers do very different things!

Bookkeepers are responsible for on-going maintenance of their client's general ledgers. A bookkeeper’s common responsibilities consist of:

Reviewing financial data on a daily basis
Categorizing expenses in the general ledger
Reviewing the general ledger for accuracy
Reconciling bank statements against the general ledger
Generating financial statements

Accountants use the accurate and up-to-date general ledger maintained by the bookkeeper to provide advisory services, such as:

Analyzing the company’s financial data
Preparing income tax returns
Providing tax planning advice

How much do bookkeeping services cost?

In most cases the first month or two will be billed hourly $50/per hour. After clean-up and scope of monthly work is clear, services will be billed based on a fixed rate - this rate will vary.

Does my bookkeeper need to be local?

With today's technology, absolutely not! We take clients in DFW as well as all over the United States!
